No knifes, No Gun's, Yes To LIFE

Our Mission

Kal’s Community Projects (KCP) is a registered community interest company which was set up to help and support young people in Birmingham.

Our Belief and Our Aims

At Kal’s Community Projects (KCP) we know that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. We are involved with many projects which include designing and implementing mindfulness events, food bank initiatives, mentoring programmes and a range of workshops.

The Covid-19 pandemic and the current living crisis has put young people at a further disadvantage. Young people are at a greater risk of unemployment and homelessness. We believe that young people are the victims of today’s society. Through raising awareness of the problems facing young people we can help to address these issues. Young people need to be supported and empowered.

We believe in giving young people a voice.

We believe by adopting a mindfulness approach we can raise awareness of the impact of knife/gun crime, alcohol/drug abuse and mental health on young people. Through these approaches we can raise awareness in the community and support young people.

We believe the key to a better tomorrow is empowering young people so that they can achieve their potential and follow their dreams despite the many challenges they face in their daily lives.

Our young people are our future.

We believe in a multi-agency approach and working together with communities and organisations so we can overcome challenges much more efficiently.

The aim of KCP is to get the wider community engaged and to help and support young people and their families in Birmingham. We plan to widen our network and get as many people as possible involved and engaged with our projects. Through our online platform we hope to reach even more young people and families.

KCP believes in the power of the community and adopting a multi-agency approach to help, support and educate young people.

Help

Our work is focused on providing young people with the help they need. Our staff are caring, considerate and compassionate to the needs of young people. Our staff and collaborators provide direct help to our service users. This help is provided through our various programmes and projects.

Support

We support young people through various projects such as our foodbank initiatives, mentoring programmes and well-being walks. We also run essential skills and CV clinics. As well as supporting young people directly we provide support for their families. We design and implement initiatives, programmes and workshops to support families. We also run community events for the community and families of our service users. We ensure families can access the information they need by referring them to the right services and agencies. We have many links and collaborations with the local community, charities and businesses. We also run awareness programmes to provide a voice for young people. We believe that by helping and supporting young people but also actively advocating for them we can bring change more effectively and build a better tomorrow.

Educate

We work with many media outlets including TV, radio and online media to inspire and educate young people, their families and the local community. Our focus is on raising an awareness of issues which affect young people such as peer pressure, bullying, mental health, loneliness and isolation, gang crime, youth violence, domestic violence and homelessness. We strongly believe that in order to eradicate youth violence we need to address its root causes and education is key in this process.
